Inverness Shops

Inverness has managed to retain a thriving mix of independent shops and familiar high street chains. This is in part because it is the main shopping centre for the highlands with people travelling hours to shop in the city. Shops tend to be open 6 days a week 0900 to 1700 however, many are open on Sundays and some also have extended opening hours during the week. Some will be open later on a Thursday evening. As a rule, they don’t close at lunchtimes.

The Eastgate Centre is the main shopping centre with many retailers. The nearby Victorian Market houses a collection of independent shops. The main outdoor shopping area is centred along and around Main Street.
